Jimmy Choo & H&M

Jimmy Choo pairing up with H&M....This is such music to my ears. I'm so utterly obsessed with shoes that sometimes I wanna wear them everywhere, including to the beach because one never knows where you'll end up after the beach. Por ejemplo, I went to the beach with my friend's birthday and after the beach we ended up at the Boat Basin, hence, HEELS NEEDED!!
I had my beach hair, a beach tan, my beach dress, AND no heels!!
Back on the subject though, this marriage between H&M and Jimmy Choo comes at a great time, a time of economic hardship where everyone is looking for a deal. I just hope that by November 14th they manufacture enough of these shoes to supply the demand that both of the retailers have created. It's more than wanted, it's necessary!!

I do have reservations about Jimmy Choo and H&M joining forces, will quality be compromised? What kind of materials will they use? Will this material cut into my feet to the point where I don't wear them and they end up in my closet as a permanent fixture?
hmmm....I wonder...
However, seeing that Fergie looks comfortable in them gives me hope.

H&M Follow up...

It's so very funny. I love it when I can predict the future. The Roberto Cavalli for H&M collection is SOLD OUT.

I went to the H&M today and took a picture of the windows, because that was all that was left out of the Roberto Cavalli collection. I think that they should clear out the display windows of product that is not inside the store. The more I think about it the more mad I get.
Why produce less than the amount that would sell? Do you NOT want to make money? Well, if you do want to increase sales then make enough stuff so that it takes a week to run out, instead of having 3000 people go into the store at once to buy the entire collection in 3 hours flat only to put the collection on eBay for a ridiculous high amount.

This dress (above) is being sold for the price range of $250 USD to 700USD). The dress is beautiful. I want it and I would buy it from an H&M store.

H&M needs to realize that this is happening and put a stop to this. I don't think they would be happy to find out that somewhere someone else is making a hefty profit with their product and hard work.

H&M Roberto Cavalli

The day was here and the moment has passed. The H&M Roberto Cavalli entire collection was revealed to the public yesterday.
In the past H&M would keep a preview of their featured designer under tight wraps. But, for the last 2 weeks I have passed by H&M and have seen the window with a sneak preview of the collection. I thought the window looked really neat with its safari/jungle theme. I should have taken a picture, but it totally slipped my mind.
This picture below I found in the web... looks nothing like what I have seen...It might be the window that is currently on display. The question now is... Did H&M's product development team order enough for all of us that didn't want to be trampled on November 8th, 2007?
I will go to H&M today and find out.

From Runway to Real Life

People always mention to me how they don't understand runway collections because they seem too weird and very unlike what everyday people wear.
I understand runway in this way.... Runway collections are exaggerated versions of what I will see later on being sold in specialty retailers, departments stores, and all over the street. Runway designers usually utilize more expensive fabrics, with expensive construction of the garment (some thing are done by hand), and exaggerated silhouettes. (making the garment very expensive)

A perfect example are these Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2007 dresses. The have a bold and vivid prints and are very, very short. I would probably wear this as a shirt, not a dress...

H&M found a simple way to translate this dress to the street. The H&M version is much more toned down. Even though the cut of the dress is very fashion forward, it is much longer in length and the color is very wearable in all black. The best part about this dress is the $30 price tag along with the (100% cotton) comfort of the dress.

P.S. This dress can quickly be added to the Little Black Dress (LBD) collection in your wardrobe.

While on Vacation...

While on vacation I wore this fuchsia H&M dress that I find to be the cutest thing alive. It was $20, very lightweight and comfortable for a night out in The Bahamas. I also felt so very bright and cheery. I paired the dress with grey shoes and a long grayish accented necklace and some silver bangles.

After I got fully dressed I was kinda bored and decided to take pictures of my outfit. At one point in time I actually felt like a hero. (the picture above is my superhero pose....)
THE BEST PART ABOUT IT: I wore this dress to the office with a striped black and white t-shirt and patent leather Mary Jane heels.

Ms.C and the dresses Q&A # 104

I received the following dilemma from Ms. C
QUESTION: I found these dresses at H&M. Which dress should I keep?

ANSWER: If a single garment is less than $30 dollars and I go as far as taking it home because I like it so much and I can't decide on which color to select.... I opt for keeping both items of clothing. This summer dresses are everywhere and therefore Ms. C is bound to get full use of these two dresses this summer.
I like the fact that she has a standout raspberry colored dress with a fun look and a more traditional (safe) black dress with a dressy look.

For $30 a dress I think its worth keeping both dresses just to add that spark into your closet.

However, If I had to really chose one dress. I would advise you to keep the raspberry colored dress. It flatters your complexion and will give you more from day to night versatility. For example, you can wear the candy colored dress to the beach or on a date. (I wouldn't wear a black dress to the beach.)

P.S. Think Jessica Biel in Oscar De La Renta or Eva Mendes in Calvin Klein by Francisco Costa

Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up

I went shopping yesterday and stopped by H&M. I found this top for $20 and loved it for its comfort factor.
Then later on at home, I was flipping through the pages of In Style magazine and saw this picture of Katherine Heigl in the movie Knocked Up. It's almost the same exact shirt!! In another color obviously. I think this top is super cute and comfy. Friday's is dress down day at work and I thought that jeans, patent leather shoes, and a nice delicate necklace would make this casual look appear put together.

Casual work attire

I selected this outfit to go to work last week.

It's a very simple gray dress and instead of pairing it with a cami for coverage. I paired it with a boat-neck top with 3 quarter sleeves. I completed this outfit with my gap wedges and jewelry from Jewelry Television (Ring, Bracelet and necklace).

Dress: Anthropologie, $60.00.

Top: H&M, $20.00.

Shoes: The Gap, $ 50.00.

Jewelry: JTV, Ring, Bracelet, Necklace.

H and M Dress/Cardigan

I bought this dress/cardigan from H and M. On the hanger it just looked like a tent. However, I dared to try it on and totally adore its versatility. So far, I have worn it with black boots, as a leg showing ensemble with my gap lavender wedges and also as a cardigan with jeans and a thick belt on my waist.

As if all of this was not enough, I put together another quick outfit yesterday morning while I was in a rush. The picture attached to the left is my latest assembly. I wore the dress with tights and my new heels (again!). I love this outfit so much for its comfortable factor. It's like walking around in pj's.

Lesson learned: If you are iffy about something on a hanger, try it on. You never know!
