Yves St. Laurent boots

One item that I have seen all over my fashion magazines is The Yves St. Laurent SS09 patent leather ankle mesh boots.  In my eyes they resemble a cage.  I saw it as a hamster torturing device.

However, I have to admit that one of the reasons why I adore fashion is because it's not practical.  Think about the following...imagine walking with these boots in NYC and all of a sudden it starts raining.... or better yet, imagine walking with these when it's 98 degrees fahrenheit.  So so not practical!!

On the other hand I do see the creativity in this boot.  I can also see where the inspiration came from, The Eiffel Tower.
I would like to point out that within this same collection, I found a shoe that embodies creativity, the Eiffel Tower inspiration, high fashion, and practicality.

I wonder why this shoe wasn't featured in any of the fashion magazines?

I think the second version is sexy as oppose to the first which seems to SCREAM to be seen though is lacks practicality...

sexy doesn't really need to be practical.

I am not a fashion person, but I like those boots for some reason. I am not saying that Nike should follow with a pair of sneakers like that, but in the right setting with the right outfit, those boots could be special.

I am really feeling the second pair! I can think of a few outfits that can show off those...
