Purchases...

Spotted... Enid making some purchases....
I want this top in every color but I started with the white one. I bought this one at New York & Co.
Joe's jeans are so comfortable and they fit me well= win/win situation.

Colorful heels for Spring. I can't do black shoes when it's nice and sunny outside.

Any Feedback??

The Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto, Canada

Are we going back to Chopines?
I went to Toronto on April 3rd and visited the Bata Museum. I thought these shoes were quite insane, they were called Chopines (details below).
Shoes, Swedish, 17th century, on loan from Skokloster Castle, Sweden
The architecture of this shoe is highly idiosyncratic. The shoemaker made a sole by combining elements of a chopine with a high heel and he made an upper that combines a shoe and a mule. It seems that the shoemaker was attempting to merge the extreme elevation offered by the chopine with the up-to-the-minute fashion of high heels. The resultant shoes are a remarkable statement of ostentatious display.

Here's another one...
Italian, 1580-1620, Bata Shoe Museum, Toronto, Canada
This pair of velvet covered chopines embellished with lace, ruching and tassels were clearly never intended to be worn as overshoes but instead were items of luxury in the wardrobe of an upper-class woman.

Now!!!
Don't the shoes below seem to be inspired by chopines (aka impossible to wear fashionable shoes)?

I thought is was an interesting observation....

Cuffed Sandals

I just received an email from Piperlime.com regarding these new trend in sandals. In the email they called them Cuffed Sandals and on the website they are called The New Gladiators.
To be honest with you, I think they look super cute, but I just don't understand them. Why would I choose to wrap my ankles? It feels wrong to wrap my ankles with leather or anything in the Summer. It just doesn't make sense.

It looks constricting... and it kinda looks like a straight jacket situation... Doesn't it?
But, I see everyone wearing them. What do you all think?

This top from Club Monaco reminds me of 2 very different and distinct things.

1. It reminds me of the movie The Devil Wears Prada at the Runway meeting over the April issue when an Editor suggests Florals...LOL

"EDITOR: Well... they're showing a lot of florals right now, so I was thinking...
MIRANDA PRIESTLY: Florals? For spring? Ground breaking. "

Now, every time I see florals or anyone mentions florals for Spring, I always think about that scene.
2. and the Ralph Lauren Spring 2008 collection, when the florals were paired with leather or black. It looked so fresh and so new. I looks unexpectedly cute cute.

In conclusion, I love this top as well as the complete Club Monaco floral collection for this 2010 Spring/Summer and will definitely pair them with black.
Hopefully, no one will tell me. Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking! LOL

I absolutely love this trend. I've been acquiring lucite accessories for about one year and I'm finally glad that I can buy them at an affordable price.

White Denim-I saw it first across the pond...

I had one main observation while I was in España... nothing genius. It was just a general observation of a trend. White jeans. They were everywhere. Curious, I asked Nath about it, but she only noticed it herself after I pointed it out. By dinner time on my second day in Spain in became my mission to take pictures of white jeans to show everyone how popular they are in Spain.

Based on this trend observation 1 normal thing happened and something I never considered also happened.
1. I HAD to try on a pair of white jeans and of course ended up buying a pair.

2. The June 2009 Lucky magazine posted a white jeans trend on their monthly article I spy, which only led me to kick myself in the behind for not posting this sooner.

I saw it first Lucky mag!!!!

Outerwear Trend

I continue to believe that this is one of the most perfect fashion moments in the movie "The Devils Wears Prada" and it has to be the inspiration for the current white outerwear trend. I love it. If only I had an extra $300 usd to....Ahhhhh !!!!!!!
Kate Moss
Katherine Heigl
Kristen Bell
Katherine Heigl
Angelina Jolie
Then, I would buy one these from J.Crew. Their coats have the best quality, durability, the best feel with a fab look.

Black has been upgraded

I always find it chic to wear all black. It's always slimming and its easy to do. It's my go to color. However, this season black has been updated and upgraded with colorful accessories. Such as.....
Bronze belts and shoes or a brown belt with an animal print ballet shoe.

Grey tucked in boots...
Red patent leather shoes and a red clutch

So try this fresh outlook, Get a bit more daring more daring for the Holidays. Pair your blacks with yellow, blue, teal or any other color you would like.
I think the trick here is to pick accessory item in a pop color to make that it the focus point of your outfit.

Studded

For Fall 2007 I have been noticing the subtle hints of studs. I first saw it in the Givenchy RTW Fall 2007 collection. Then slowly but surely I started seeing studs all over the place.

I think it's needless to say that I would never wear any of the designs that Givenchy has designed above. However, I am fascinated on the way that it got translated to everyday wear. I love studded accessories... Having a studded bag, studded earrings or any other studded accessory is a perfect way to spice up your wardrobe this Fall because it adds a sophisticated rocker chic vibe, like what Mandy Moore tried (below earrings and belt).
