The color orange....

I have about three orange items in my entire wardrobe... I think. I never wear them and I don't know why. However, this year I'm going to make an effort to add orange!

Yesterday, I read something about orange courtesy of the (ICFS) International Conference of Fashion Stylists.

Wearing orange is a fantastic way to command attention. A combination of passionate red and happy yellow. Orange is intellectually stimulating, but also signifies warmth, energy, change, and health.

Here's an outfit that I would wear with these orange heels.

I can shoe off anything...

While the fashion industry is abuzz, with such things as Tom Fords new line, Willow's nails. While the Black Swan is a hit... I still keep thinking about the same thing...
Shoes shoes and more shoes.... I actually have shoes inside drawers that I swear to you and to everyone that one day I will wear one day.

Here is my latest love. We were introduced by my cousin, Dianna.

A Staple Purchase

My latest bootie purchase. I don't feel like it's a super exciting purchase but I do feel like I needed it. I bought the red toned bootie. And the best part of them is that they are comfortable...

Hit or miss?

Animal Print Forever and Ever

Animal print is one of those accessories that don't ever go out of style. They also go very well with most items in most wardrobes.

So when I walked into Nine West and saw these heels I couldn't resist and I had to buy them.

Oh Val! Nine West

I like this shoe and I don't all at the same time. Add the fact that the shoe costs $199 from the Boutique 9 collection at Nine West (named Val). I think this is too much money but it's something about this caged shoe with a big bow in my ankles that says "buy me and do whatever you need to do to take me home".

I need help....

Purchases...

Spotted... Enid making some purchases....
I want this top in every color but I started with the white one. I bought this one at New York & Co.
Joe's jeans are so comfortable and they fit me well= win/win situation.

Colorful heels for Spring. I can't do black shoes when it's nice and sunny outside.

Any Feedback??

The Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto, Canada

Are we going back to Chopines?
I went to Toronto on April 3rd and visited the Bata Museum. I thought these shoes were quite insane, they were called Chopines (details below).
Shoes, Swedish, 17th century, on loan from Skokloster Castle, Sweden
The architecture of this shoe is highly idiosyncratic. The shoemaker made a sole by combining elements of a chopine with a high heel and he made an upper that combines a shoe and a mule. It seems that the shoemaker was attempting to merge the extreme elevation offered by the chopine with the up-to-the-minute fashion of high heels. The resultant shoes are a remarkable statement of ostentatious display.

Here's another one...
Italian, 1580-1620, Bata Shoe Museum, Toronto, Canada
This pair of velvet covered chopines embellished with lace, ruching and tassels were clearly never intended to be worn as overshoes but instead were items of luxury in the wardrobe of an upper-class woman.

Now!!!
Don't the shoes below seem to be inspired by chopines (aka impossible to wear fashionable shoes)?

I thought is was an interesting observation....

Cuffed Sandals

I just received an email from Piperlime.com regarding these new trend in sandals. In the email they called them Cuffed Sandals and on the website they are called The New Gladiators.
To be honest with you, I think they look super cute, but I just don't understand them. Why would I choose to wrap my ankles? It feels wrong to wrap my ankles with leather or anything in the Summer. It just doesn't make sense.

It looks constricting... and it kinda looks like a straight jacket situation... Doesn't it?
But, I see everyone wearing them. What do you all think?

News news read all about it..NIKE & MANGO

Mango and Nike have collaborated to create a The Nike Delphia trainers, inspired by running Bowerman model of the 70's (confession: I don't really know what that is, and even worse, I really don't care).
These sneakers look nice, but honestly until I know what the MSRP is I won't be able to determine their purchase-ability (a made up word). However, what I must say is this....partnerships among retailers make me happy because they always create a win/win situation.

I need shoes for...

I need shoes for the dress below to wear to a wedding. What shoes should I buy? I never bought shoes for this dress and I have worn it only once before even though I absolutely love the dress. The mid section is not transparent even though the image makes it seem that way.
I'm contemplating one of these shoes but am not committed to them. I want the shoes to be wearable with other outfits as well.

The accessory that I will be wearing.

Please, please, please (please 3X) let me know what you think? let me get your suggestions..

I didn't know...

I did not know that Taboo (Jaime Gomex) from the Black Eyed Peas collaborated with the footwear brand Jump to launch a line of sneakers called TABOOXJUMP. I had to find out from read my People en EspaƱol magazine that I received yesterday. The sneakers retail at $298.00 and they are only sold in Saks Fifth Avenue store and. I could not find the collection in the Saks online website. The price?

I would love a female version of these. Q: Where would I wear them to? A: (TBD) to be determined.
What you think? It's going out sneakers!! I love them...

A must have item this Fall is the over the knee boot. They look comfortable yet sexy (even without a heel) on Kate Hudson.
Thankfully, the over the knew boot is now available at an affordable price $99.00 from Steve Madden.

Poppy makes me Happy

I recently paid a visit to the Coach store at Columbus Circle to see what all the Poppy was about.
... And...
I have to say that I was impressed. It's colorful, fun, bright, uplifting, light, and priced right. I couldn't ask for more and I'm being real honest.

For some time now Coach has provided a great handbag and accessories collection. However, the pricing was really off ($700 plus usd) with what Coach represents for most people in America, which is affordable luxury with supreme quality and durability.

The Poppy collection has brought Coach to a better base price of around $100 (for accessories) to $300 (for handbags).

The colors work great for Summer. What do you guys think?

Love,

Enid P.
